It was on a 29 bus. Ok the truth is: let’s say Thommo Mike and I all knew each other as teenagers. We met Chas in a pub in Hampstead where we used to hang out. He was on bass for a while, then left. Thommo also used to leave as well and we got a girl called Lucinda to play sax for a while. We also knew another guy in the same pub [same time], called John Hasler who played drums. Mike Had a girlfriend with a brother called Gavin who became the bass player. Someone knew Suggs and he came to a rehearsal and became the singer. Mike sacked him and John Hasler became the singer and got his mate Garey Dovey in on drums. Gavin left and Garry got his mate Bedders in on bass. Er ..we got a gig and John Hasler was away, so I asked Suggs to sing and that was it. Not quite Garry Dovey left and Bedders said he had a mate called Woody and that was it. Then we got quite good and Chas joined again…
