I’ve always been intrigued about the “withdrawn” Absolutely sleeve with the “straight-faced” pose outside Chalk Farm station. Was it a band or record company decision to have this initial release removed and for what reason? (It’s in Record Collector’s Rare Record Guide at around £20 I think). This is my fave LP of yours.

Dear Chris
There were two poses, one which most of the band liked and one which Dave Robinson liked. So I said “let’s do two different covers then” and of course we did. Except there were hardly any of the one we liked, so it’s the rarer one. We have used the two covers again for the re issue but I think it’s more evenly matched this time…
