I’m looking forward to Minehead to a degree you might not expect from such an old cynic…. and would like clarification on one small point please:

Is there even the remotest possibility of a Madness performance on the Sunday?

The reason I ask is that the driver in my party has been offered lucrative overtime for the weekend. He’s turned most of it down, but he has to go home Sunday morning. The other two of us can either go with him or book train tickets back for Monday.

Would love to stay and see Paul Heaton again, but the extra cost makes it really difficult.

If you can’t give the game away on here, please please email me personally for old times sake to let me know if I should book those train tickets. I promise to keep schtum if necessary.

Also I read further back that you have 21 songs recorded and are considering if you need a producer. Does this mean no Clive Langer at this stage? He’d be nothing without Madness (or do I mean that the other way round?)! Seriously, with the exception of a few of the B sides he and Alan are pretty integral to the last 32 years in terms of your best recorded work.

Anyway, look forward to seeing you all at Minehead, it’s just a shame the steam train doesn’t run this time of year or I would definitely have come home by train on the Monday!!
