Hey CJ, love the new album. My 9 year old actually requested it for Christmas which made me so proud as i’Ve playing my kids madness stuff since they’ve been born. Anyway, these racecourse gigs in the summer, specifically Newcastle. The ticket prices are £38.50 per person. Now I would love to take my kids to see madness biut I can’t stretch to £160 for me, the misses and the kids to attend. I’m sure I ain’t the only maddie fan in this position. Is there any way you can use your ” influence ” to sort something out here. Any way that the kids can get in free, or failing that, significantly cheaper than £38.50 please. Kind regards, Sean kilminster
Dear Sean
It is a lot of money but if your kids are under 16, they get in free. It says this on the Newcastle Racecourse website, there is a link below. At the bottom, check where it says: “concessions and discounts” So as long as they are under 16, you just have to pay for yourself and your wife. It’s still a lot of money and I am sorry about the cost of coming to see us. We cannot lower the prices ourselves, we have to get paid and so on. It has escalated from 50p in 1979. Which it was what it cost to see us until we got a review in “Melody Maker” and Barso wanted to make it £2. [We eventually settled on £1.50] If they are over 16 I’m sure you could er…make them look under 16, they won’t be asking for birth certificates [if you catch my drift].
thanks, CB

Stop your winging Shazala!!!!!!!
It’s not the price of the tickets that bother me, but the booking and postal fees that some of the agencies tag on are ridiculous.
Northampton for example, you can only get the tickets from eventim.co.uk which cost £35.00, when they add their fees on that ticket ends up costing £46! ….. luckily I have a spare kidney I can sell to fund my tickets this year….
