Just trying to book tickets for us and the kids for Edinburgh. Ticketmaster states no under 14s permitted. Is this enforced by the venue? Would love this to be their first live music experience.

Dear Isabel
So would I! Indoctrinating young people in the the “way of the Madness” 😎 is something we are very keen on. Ask the venue but I can’t imagine they can’t come. It’s not X rated – although Suggs does sometimes swear a bit.
best, CB

Went to see you guys play on my 40th Birthday at Newcastle 16th December last. My 4th time. Brilliant as always. Only disappointing thing was my two sons 12 and 10 were meant to come with me but got covid. Looking forward to seeing you all the next time.

Dear Lottie
What time can you get here? We’ll wait. Joking! Squeeze are on at 7.3O and are excellent. We are on at 9.00. Tube disrupted but I got here OK. Leave extra time for travel!
Enjoy the show, CB

I was due to be at your gig in Bournemouth but sadly my mum died in November so was unable to go. luckily I took out insurance for my tickets only to be told that as my mum died 4 weeks and 2 days before the gig my insurance was invalid, apparently I should be over it by then! the reason I am writing this to you is because I have no power or ability to change the mind of this faceless insurance company but you do and this is a point of principle for me, not about the money but about the way these insurance companies treat people who are unable to do anything about it and are struggling with grief. Beware people who buy insurance for tickets its pretty much a scam in my opinion, the company was TicketPlan.

Dear Graham
That’s terrible, I’m so sorry for your loss. If you feel like seeing us this year, please let me know and I’ll sort you some tickets. Write to Chris Cupboard on here

Hi,
I am looking to book a couple of tickets for my dad’s birthday as a surprise for December, he’s a HUGE fan!
I have searched everywhere and can not find information regarding a meet and greet with you guys and wondering if that’s an option or possible.
It’s his dream to meet you all my entire childhood consisted of Madness and I believe his did too.
It would mean alot if you could let me know, thank you!!

Dear Caroline
We don’t do that sort of thing. It’s not really on to charge people to meet us.
CB

Hi there,

I know this could be a long shot, but I have a party of 25 attending the madness show at AFAS Live, Amsterdam on the 12th of December for my fathers 50th birthday.

We’re travelling from the uk to see them, and was wondering if there’s anyway we could possibly get a shout out for my father for his birthday as this would be incredibly special!

I am willing to pay if it’s possible? I’m just unsure how I go about this request.

I hope to hear back from you soon, Many thanks.

Dear Georgia
You know what’s funny? People never say the name of the person. What’s his name? Can’t promise anything, though.
CB

How do
Its my 50th birthday in a couple of years and I’m looking to have a big bash. Would it be possible to get the band to perform at my birthday?? It’s a genuine ask as I’m not sure if you do smaller gigs but thought if worth an ask.

Just one last night boat to a massive fan

Cheers

Stuart

Dear Johnnie,
You are way off the mark there. OK “Shut Up” was supposed to be Slade [funny enough I had Dave Hills Super Yob guitar int he video – a coincidence] and recently “Can’t Touch us Now” but the closest thing we were based on was Kilburn and the High Roads.. can’t find much good stuff video wise sadly

Hi. I was digging around my dads collection in the loft and have managed to find my dads original house of fun 45 vinyl with dont look back on the b side and was hoping to get it signed and framed to surprise him for xmas or his birthday. I wasnt able to blag my way backstage to get it done at Madness on the common but just wanted to ask are there any more signings coming up at all in the near future??? It would make this year!

Hello Chris,
thank you for all the riffs, writing and contribution to our favourite band.
Is it true that a recording exists of a session, possibly impromptu, with Squeeze back in the day? If so, any plans for a release?

Thanks

Matthew

Dear Matthew
Thanks for lovely comments. I don’t think we ever did anything with that great band to my knowledge..
CB

Dear Mike
The catering can be quite a lot, then there’s the bridesmaids outfits and page boys and you have to hire a venue do the invite and so on. Our costs would be astronomical in comparison. If you are serious please contact Ari Gold [aka David Levy] at https://www.wmeagency.com/

Hello Madness! I have just passed my grade one guitar exam and I would love to be in a band like you!
Please could you tell me when you will be performing at Plymouth? My dad has promised that he will take me to see you there for passing my guitar exam and getting a distinction! My dad is also a fan!

Hello ask Madness.
Bought a 7″(acetate) there A side are Madness – Shadow on the house and B side Elvis Costello – Big sister. I think it´s a 2 track NME free singel but never released. Probably from NME dancing master cassette 1982. Do you know anything about the records history?. Michael.

Hi
I’m trying to work out when I first saw madness.
It was in Southampton (1980/81 I think) at a Matinee show (u16 lol!)
Would you be able to remind me of the date.

Worryingly a long time ago

Still coming to see you, lucky enough to have met Lee at the Brighton gig at Christmas !

Cheers

blimey I can’t remember this year, never mind 1981 or 1980..Have you heard of Google? I just searched Madness matinee shows Southampton..https://concerts.fandom.com/wiki/Madness
December 20, 1980 Gaumont, Southampton, ENG (2 shows. Tonight, as on the rest of this tour, Lee recreates the flying act from the Baggy Trousers video that made him a star with youngsters)

Bit of a long shot here but hoping someone can help me. Went to see Madness at Nottingham last night and they were unbelievably brilliant – we had a good bop and met some great fans. We had to hand our tickets in as we went in (we were standing) and was told we could get one on the way out to keep as a souvenir when we left, Unfortunately my partner has epilepsy and right near the end on our favourite song (Goddammit) Night Boat to Cairo he became very dazed, not moving and went a lighter shade of pale and could feel a seizure coming on so we had to do a quick exit – they hadn’t started handing the tickets back out so we didn’t get one. Any chance of getting one sent – will pay p & p – or is it way too late now?

Hi
Me and my mates really want to start a band and make great music, and seeing as we all love Madness, we were wondering if any of you had any advice? We are only 13/14 years old and your music means so much to us, it’s really awesome!
PS: sorry if you consider this question silly/a waste of your time 🙂

I swear blind that my mum is The biggest Madness fan, if they didn’t exist I don’t know who she would be listening to (The Specials.) haha! She loves Suggs and has always loved him, she’s grown up with the band and will most likely have one step beyond as her funeral song. I’d love to be able to get her to meet Suggs, that being said the rest of the band also. If you could, would it be possible to help me arrange this? And send me some tour dates etc, I’d love to make my mum smile, not that it’s hard but this would be different! Thanks a lot.

Hi I’m doing a topless head shave on the 5th of September to raise money for a young lady (18) with diabetes whose teeth are falling out, would madness or any of the nutty boys be able to attend in Hemel Hempstead as raising £20,000 won’t be easy?
Help me smile again…
My name is Linzi Grant. I am an 18 year old girl with type 1 diabetes, which is a struggle in itself but for the last year I have been in so much pain with my teeth. I have had surgery twice, which has not worked on both occasions and caused me to end up in hospital 4 times in the past year with DKA (diabetic ketone-acidosis), which is potentially fatal. My teeth crumble and fall out so easily, I’ve lost 3 of my front teeth already and now I have a couple of temporary replacements, but nothing long term. I’ve probably spent most of my life at the dentist trying to sort this, but no one knows the reason why this has happened to me. I’ve lost a lot of confidence what with losing my front teeth and others, having temporary replacements and being bullied for not having ‘nice’ teeth. I can’t eat properly anymore as my teeth fall out with the food. I feel like a baby again with all these soft foods. I’d just love to have nice teeth for a change, something I’ve never had.

Please help me smile again! Thank you!

Dear Richard
Thats a great cause, the poor girl. Send me the details I’ll put them on here, plus I’ll donate £100 myself.
CB

Suggs
Both myself and my husband come from east london and have grown up with you. How much would you charge for an evening in chislehurst for my husband birthday, he works really hard to provide for his familty. Thank you xxx

Dear Eveyln
Thanks for all the support over the years. For any serious offers, please contact our agency or management. Details are on this site, to the right.

Hi guys. We’re due to get married on 23 august but my fiancé was rushed into hospital a couple of weeks ago with a brain hemorrhage and we’ve been there ever since. I postponed the wedding. The good news is, he’s just come out of intensive care and wants the wedding to go ahead. The bad news is the band now have another gig. I am coming in to church to ‘it must be love’ as we’ve been fans since back in the eighties. Don’t suppose you’re free and would be prepared to stand in?! Don’t think we can afford your usual fees! 😉 x

Dear Kate
Oh my goodness – I’m glad he’s OK! sorry but we can’t make it. I’m away on holiday for a start but that never stops those nutty lads
all the best for the 23rd August, CB x

Dear Sir

I’m writing on behalf of a Polish booking agency to inquire about the availability of Madness for a concert at Reggaeland Festival in Płock (Poland) taking place on 10-11 July 2015

As an agency we were doing already for this festival, live bands Mellow Mood (Italy) 2013 and Train to Roots 2014, and cooperated with the concert the main star Shaggy (Ja) 2013 and Ward 21 (Ja) 2014

Capacity of festival: Edition 2014 – 7 thousand people a day

Length of performance – ~ 70 minutes

Could you state your conditions and expectations, which we have to meet so that the concert in Poland can take place? If the group is available to perform on any of the dates given, could you specify when and what are the technical requirements (technical rider and backline list), number of people and costs (including tax), as well as the cost of transport (flights or other), including the transport of instruments? Backline will be provided.

Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards
